Wiehahn Koortzen, the director, has experience in all aspects of the building industry, project management and interior design since 1996.

Wiehahn Architects strives towards innovation, functionality and timelessness, while being environmentally conscious. We respect our client’s vision, requirements and budget, translating these into an architectural reality.
Our services include design, municipal and working drawings, council submissions, specification and tender procedures as well as project management during the building process. As part of the design process, 3D models are built on CAD, enabling the client to visualise the end product from all angles.
Architectural Stages
Stage 1: Initial Planning
Assess and review client needs, site characteristics, legal constraints, budget limits, consultant requirements, timelines, and preferred contracting methods.
Stage 2: Design Concept and Feasibility
Develop the preliminary design, advise on spatial requirements, layout, materials, systems, functionality, compliance with land-use rights, costs, and timelines.
Stage 3: Design Refinement
Stage 4: Documentation and Procurement
Define project scope and complexity, refine the design, consult with authorities, finalize construction details, integrate services, and review design, budget, and timelines with the team.
Prepare documentation for local approval, coordinate technical details, draft construction specifications, review cost estimates, and initiate the tendering process to select a contractor.
Stage 5: Construction Phase
Transfer the site to the contractor, provide construction documents, oversee subcontractor designs, conduct site inspections, manage the contract, and assist with occupation certificates.
Stage 6: Project Completion
Complete final stages by ensuring all handover aspects are addressed, prepare documentation for operation, issue final certificates, and provide as-built drawings and contractual documents.
